About the Department:

Mathematics & Physics is the science and study of quality, structure, space, and change. It is used throughout the world as an essential tool in many fields, including natural science, engineering, medicine, and the social sciences. Mathematics & Physics is fun and can prepare you for a variety of excellent careers! If you like solving puzzles and figuring things out, then a mathematics & Physics major may interest you. In addition, applications of Mathematics & Physics are everywhere and a strong background in Mathematics can help you in many different careers. The curriculum now offers Life Maths in Year 12 and Year 13, depending on students career path students can choose between Life & Pure Maths.

Activities & Initiatives:

The department has been taking part in the Fiji Mathematics Competition, Team Mathematics Competition and ECO Competitions. From this year, the department is also taking part in Chess Competition.

Numeracy:

The department conducts numeracy programmes for all levels. The programme normally runs on every Thursdays from 7.45 – 8.00am. Numeracy Test is also carried in our class and for the school as a whole
